Two men appeared on Wednesday at an Ota Magistrates’ Court for allegedly breaking into a church and stealing seven Books of Moses and other valuables worth N660,000 belonging to one Deborah Obadiah.
The 62-year-old David Ogundare and the 40-year-old Ola Busari are facing trial in charges of stealing, conspiracy, breach of peace and malicious damages in connection with the offence committed last April.
According to the prosecutor, the the men also unlawfully conducted themselvesm which could cause a breach of peace after damaging the Ark of God Covenant at the church.
Both accused pleaded not guilty
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and were both released on bail.
The case listening was adjourned to April 8.
