An Ikeja Magistrate's court has remanded a 23-year-old laborer, Isaac John in Prison for allegedly cutting the finger of one Mrs Ogochukwu Aronwu.
Magistrate Eniola Fabamwo ordered the defendant who is facing three count charge bordering on robbery, infliction of wound and attempted murder, preferred against him by the police be remanded in the prison after going through the first count charge.
The Police prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi told the court that Isaac committed the alleged offence on February 14, 2014 at about 7:50 p.m along Murtala Muhammed Airport Road in Ikeja, Lagos.
He said the defendant, while armed with a knife and other dangerous weapons, robbed one Mrs Ogochukwu Aronwu of her hand bag containing some money and headtie and in the process allegedly inflicted wound on his victim by chopping off her left hand with an intention of killing his victim, used a knife to cut off the fourth finger of her left hand.
The defendant, after the charges against him were read, however, pleaded not guilty. The case has been adjourned till March 2014.
