Police Deny Story Of 10 Corpses In Mgbirichi River

The Police Commissioner in Imo, Mr Musa Katsina, has denied speculations that 10 corpses have been found in Mgbirichi River in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Joy Elemoko,

Katsina described the rumour as false and unfounded and said that only two bodies were discovered in a burrow pit and not in the river as reported.
He said the Homicide Section of the state Criminal Investigation Department had been assigned to investigate the cause of death and identify the corpses.
The commissioner said pathologist reports showed that the corpses, which were at their skeletal stages, had been there for over six months.
