Ezu-river-corpses-autopsy-result-ready-next-week-commissioner

AFTER nearly six weeks of waiting, the result of the autopsy conducted on the 25 exhumed dead bodies found floating on Ezu River on the border town of Amansea between Anambra and Enugu states is now ready.
However, the result would not be made public until Anambra State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Lawrence Ikeakor, returned from Abuja where he was expected to dialogue with security operatives and members of the National Assembly.

Ikeakor said yesterday in Awka: “Yes, the result of the autopsy is ready. But we cannot make it public until my return from Abuja. Maybe by next week, we will be in a position to release the result. I want you to remain patient.”
Vanguard recalls that the Ezu River debacle had attracted so much comment from both local and international organisations.
Apart from investigations by security operatives to unravel the issue, two Senate committees, police affairs and national security and intelligence, had been to the state twice to unravel the mystery.
While the committees held a public hearing on the matter during their first visit to Anambra State, they carried out their investigations in camera during their second visit because, according to members of the committees, people appear reluctant to testify in public.
