Ellen Degeneres took a record-breaking selfie at the 2014 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood.
Ellen headed into the audience during the ceremony and whipped out her smartphone, passing it to Cooper and beckoning pretty much the entire front row to assemble behind her for a snapshot.
She shared the photo on twitter and in 3 minutes, it had attracted 80,000 retweets and over one million in less than an hour, quickly becoming the most retweeted image ever (beating Obama's election win photo).
