MAIDUGURI UNREST: Heavy Shooting Between Soldiers And Gunmen, Residents In Panic

 

Fresh reports from Borno State capital Maiduguri indicate the city has been indulged in heavy fighting between military and Boko Haram insurgents for the control of the state capital.
Punch reports that Maiduguri citizens are in panic, as the heavy shooting is currently taking place between men of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) and the gunmen dressed like military men.
Students are being hurriedly picked from schools and workers are returning homes.

The streets are reported to gradually becoming desolate except the presence of the warring parties.
Three blasts have rocked Borno capital today morning.
As at the moment of filing this report it is not clear whether the shooting and the explosions are interconnected.
