Twelve people including a ward head have been reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in separate attacks at two villages in Faskari local government areas of Katsina State.
The armed men, said to be cattle rustlers on Tuesday evening invaded Koran Mota village on motorcycles, shooting sporadically into the air which resulted in the death of seven people including the Maiunguwa (Ward head).
As they were fleeing, they gunned down a middle aged at the neighbouring village of Unguwar Rimi, in Sabuwa local government area before disappearing.
According to an eyewitness, Mr Paul Anguwa, five additional persons were killed by the Fulani herdsmen in Kiorkende village.
It is still unknown whether they stole any cattle from the villages
