Suspected Boko Haram insurgents butchered 7 travelers at Wala ‘A,’ Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State on Thursday, Punch reports.
While one victim was identified as a patent medicine store owner from Gwoza, the other 6 were reportedly Gadamayo residents travelling to Maiduguri.
According to the security source, the bloody attack took place as the military announced the arrest of one of the most brutal butchers of the Boko Haram sect in Maiduguri.
The arrested 'butcher', specializing in killing people with machete, is said to have made the confession during interrogation by the Special Forces.
It would be recalled that Nigerian Northeast has faced numerous attacks by the Boko Haram sect in the last 2 weeks, which attacks have taken away hundreds of lives and left many severely injured.
