Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State on Thursday returned to Yenagoa, the state capital, after a two-week official trip to Lincoln University in the United States (U.S.), saying the opposition had adopted blackmail and propaganda to discredit his administration.
The governor, who was speaking in apparent reference to a rumour which was rife last week that he had been nabbed with the sum of $50 million, said though he will not lose focus by the series of lies and untrue reports being manufactured by the opposition, the focus of his administration would be to make Bayelsa regain its pride of place in the comity of states.
Dickson, who was received yesterday by notable indigenes of the state, including his deputy, Rear Admiral John Jonah, warned the people not to fall for what he called despondency and lies being launched by opposition against his administration.
