Atlanta ’96 Olympic Games winner Taribo West has called for a structure to develop the Golden Eaglets after the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
Taribo told the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday that the Nigerian Football Federation should provide a structure to keep the talents alive.
The former Inter Milan and AC Milan defender said, “The NFF does not have a structure that supports football development. It is sad that we may never hear anything about these boys again.
“One will naturally expect them to proceed to the Flying Eagles, but you will be shocked that none of them will make it.
“This attitude cannot help football development.”
NAN reports that Nigeria will play against Uruguay in a quarterfinal match on Saturday.
The competition, which began on October 17, will end on November 8.
