Manchester united striker Wayne Rooney has described England's current attacking line-up as the best he's seen in ten years on the international stage.
"Then you've got Welbeck and Sturridge and then obviously myself. Me and Jermain have probably been around the squad a bit longer and I think with Sturridge and Welbeck there's a lot of energy. Obviously we can both score goals so it's a good blend of forwards."
Rooney is confident that he would be able to strike up a fruitful partnership with Daniel Sturridge - if asked to do so by Roy Hodgson.
"Daniel's been in tremendous form this season or Liverpool," Rooney said. "He's scored a lot of goals and it's great to see. He's been given a vote of confidence from his manager at Liverpool, who's trusted him to play him upfront and he's delivered, he's scored goals.
"I'm sure if we play together we'll try and link up and try and create and score goals.
"The manager will set up a system he feels will give us the best chance to score goals. If that's me, Daniel Sturridge and Daniel Welbeck all playing in the same team then I'm sure he'll have a system where we all fit into that.
"We have to see what the manager decides to do but no matter who he plays we'll all be wanting England to do well and wanting each other to score."
England will qualify from Group H if they win against Montenegro and Poland at Wembley in the next seven days. Rooney thinks the games are among the most significant the national side have played for years.
"I think we're in a great position," he said. "We're confident, we're excited and it's probably two of the biggest games for years, certainly that I've played for England in terms of importance, having to win to be successful.
"We're confident and we believe we are going to qualify. Nothing's certain, if that does happen we'll have to deal with it but the players, we're all big enough, we all know that we should qualify so we'll take whatever responsibility on that. But we're really confident that won't happen and that we will qualify."
Roy Hodgson has five forwards to choose from for the crucial world cup qualifiers against Montengro and Poland - but it is the potential partnership with Daniel Sturridge that excites Rooney.
