Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has said he expects Jordan to give the Super Eagles a tough match in Amman on Monday.
Jordan will use the friendly to prepare for a 2014 World Cup final playoff against Uruguay.
“Jordan is being together for a while and they play Uruguay in the World Cup playoff, so we are playing a very strong team and it would be a difficult game,” Keshi was quoted by MTNFootball.com as saying on Sunday.
Keshi, who will be playing the game with domestic league players to prepare for CHAN 2014 in South Africa in January, said he was satisfied with the fitness level of the players.
“The performance is okay. They are really pushing hard to be there. It’s not easy, some of them are new and it’s their first time, so I expect the early panic I have seen from them,” he said.
“But in all, I am impressed at their fitness level. We will continue to do our best but it’s just that the time is too short for us to do anything before the Jordan game.”
Meanwhile, Enyimba striker, Ifeanyi Ede, has said he is looking forward to be part of the team in Amman.
Ede said the Eagles would take the friendly “like a World Cup qualifier”.
He is also wary that the Jordanians will not be a easy ride for the Eagles.
“There are no more easy games these days and that’s why we are taking this game seriously,” he told supersport.com.
“Though it is a friendly we’ll take it like a World Cup qualifier. Jordan might not be one of the big names in world football but playing against them is good for us and for our exposure too.
“We also want to do very well at Chan in January in South Africa. We cannot afford to let ourselves down or let down our country and coach (Keshi) who has been a great leader of this team.”
