BAD LUCK: Jordan Shocks Super Eagles

BAD LUCK: Jordan Shocks Super EaglesThe Super Eagles suffered a 1-0 defeat from Jordan, in an international friendly on October 28, 2013, Monday.
The defeat put a stop to Stephen Keshi’s four match unbeaten run having enjoyed straight wins over South Africa, Malawi, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia with the last defeat being far back in June 2013 at the Confederations Cup in Brazil against World Champions Spain.
The friendly match was the first ever international football meeting between Nigeria and Jordan at any level.
A questionable penalty kick awarded to hosts and well converted by Jordan’s skipper Hartem  Aqel on the 43th minute put Jordan to the lead.
The Super Eagles, who were playing home-based squad, displayed appreciable ball possession. Unfortunately, they failed to translate their dominance into goals.
This friendly is the first in a long list of international games that the Nigeria Football Federation is planning for the home boys ahead of their campaign at the Africa Nations Championships in South Africa in January 2014.
