Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's Media Office have issued a press release regarding rumours that he sealed a deal with Bola Tinubu and asked for a presidential ticket.
According to the statement, an aide to Special Adviser to the President on Public Affairs Doyin Okupe posted a material via the social media, alleging that Mr. Abubakar, together with leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has concluded plans for the presidential ticket of the APC to be ceded to him.
Mr. Abubakar's Media Office condemned such allegations, describing them as a "libelous and malicious report".
"This is not true," the statement reads, "and nothing can be further from the truth".
The statement denies Atiku Abubakar sealing any deal with Tinubu or asking for concession from the promoters of the APC.
Nigerians are urged to ignore the said publication the main purpose of which is to "cause disaffection" among Atiku, Tinubu, Muhammadu Buhari and other leaders of the APC.
It will be recalled that Mr. Abubakar, who was one of the most prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party, has recently defected to the opposition, the All Progressives Congress.
