On Wednesday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Adamawa State Governor Murtala Nyako formally registered as members of the All Progressives Congress, obtaining membership cards.
Both Nyako and Abubakar registered at their respective wards in Mayo-Belwa and Jada local government areas of Adamawa State, urging party supporters to registrate, too.
They were registered by the National Registration Officer of the party in Adamawa, Alhaji Musa Umar.
The two lawmakers described the excercise as a giant step in consolidating the APC's rising popularity in Nigeria.
"Today, I have registered with APC as the party that will salvage the nation. I call on party members and my supporters in other political parties to go and register with APC," said Abubakar.
"I want to call on all Nigerians to join us in this great movement because with this development, PDP is dead in Adamawa," said Nyako.
It will be recalled that Abubakar was formally received by the APC in Adamawa State yesterday.
