The Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and the Governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi has summoned an emergency meeting of the governors over suspension of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
This has been confirmed by a statement issued by NGF Director- General, Asishana Okauru, on February 21, 2014, Friday.
The meeting, despite its emergency status, will be the third NGF Meeting in the year 2014.
It will be chaired by Governor Amaechi at the Rivers State Governor’s lodge, Asokoro in Abuja on January 24, 2014, Monday, and will kick off at 8 p.m. prompt.
According to the statement, the NGF meeting has the following agenda:
“Removal of the CBN Governor; Dwindling Revenue to States; AOB.”
It would be recalled that President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday suspended the apex bank governor over alleged cases of impunity, incompetence, non-challance, fraud, wastefulness, and noncompliance with provisions of the Public Procurement Act 2007.
