The Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary General on West Africa, Said Djinnit, has urged all countries in the West African sub-region to team up and tackle terrorism decisively.
He pointed out that the Boko Haram challenge is not a battle for Nigeria alone but calls for synergy among all the West African countries.
Mr Djinnit was speaking to journalists in Abuja at a meeting with the Minister of State for Defence, Olusola Obada to discuss the challenge of terrorism in the sub-region.
It would be recalled that the Federal Government of Nigeria declared State of Emergency in three northern states in Nigeria – Yobe, Adamawa and Borno where the Islamic sect group the Boko Haram unleashing terror and holding the region hostage.
