BREAKING NEWS: FIRE Guts Kumasi Central MARKET

market-fire-1About three dozen shops and stalls have been consumed by fire at the Kumasi Central Market.
The fire which started in the dawn of Sunday destroyed several properties and merchandise worth thousands of Ghana Cedis.
The cause of the outbreak is yet to be ascertained but some traders suspect it may have been sparked by a power surge.
Markets in the capital Accra have had their fair share of such disasters.
They include Kantamanto, Makola number 2, Dome and parts of Agbogbloshie.
Regional Commander DCOP Augustine Gyening said his men did not just prevent looters from getting to the fire scene but also comforted the victims.
Deputy Regional Minister Samuel Yaw Adusei added there is soon going to be a reconstruction of the market which will take into account all recommendations given by stakeholders.
This is the seventh fire to afflict markets in the country in less three months.
