Mr. Sanni Idowu, 48, has been remanded in Agodi Prison, Ibadan by a magistrate court for allegedly raping his own daughter.
Sanni who resides at Ifedapo Amuloko area of Ibadan was said to have de-flowered his 15 year old daughter at the age of 10.
It was further gathered that the accused who has two wives had sent the mother of the girl away while the second wife has been ill for quite sometime.
According to the charge sheet marked MI/15079/c/2013, the accused was caught on October 23, 2013 at about 09:15 a. m.
The prosecutor, Mr. S. Ogunremi said: “That you Sanni Idowu on October 23, 2013 at Ifedapo, Amuloko area of Ibadan, in the magisterial district did have unlawful carnal knowledge of one girl(name withheld) age 15 years without her consent.
“The offence contravened section 357 and punishable under section 358 of the Criminal Code Cap. 38 Vol II Laws of Oyo state of Nigeria 2000.” The daughter said the father threatened to kill her if she told anybody.
At the arraignment of the accused, he pleaded not guilty to the charges. Magistrate S. A Oyediran adjourned the case to December 9 for hearing.
