Breaking: Gunmen Attack Two Villages, 26 Killed In Zamfara

 

This afternoon two villages in the Zurmi Local Government Area of Zanfara were attacked and 26 people were killed during the attacks.
Today, in Maitsaba and Birnin-Tsaba villages in the Zurmi local government area the gunmen appeared at around 12:00 pm, noon, local time. During the attacks, 26 people who were killed, 20 houses were burnt to the ground, with essential grains harvested by the locals destroyed.
This evening in Gusau, the Chairman of Zurmi local government, Alhaji Abdullahi Mohammed Gurbin-Bore, said that the gunmen were seen dressed in Nigerian Military uniforms, and riding about 50 motorcycles. The gunmen encircled the agrarian villages, and began shooting sporadically.
The Zurmi local government is located about 100 km from Gusau, the Zamfara state capital, and is home to the Inspector General of Police, M D Abubakar, and Minister of Defense, Aliyu Mohammed Gusau.
It was gathered that no group has claimed responsibility for the two attacks.
