Why Archbishop Blasts Imo State Government, Calls It Discriminatory

Archbishop Blasts Imo State Government, Calls It DiscriminatoryThe Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Anthony Obinna, blasted Imo state government for introducing discriminatory school fees.
His Grace Obinna stated this while addressing the members of Owerri Archdiocesan Pastoral Council in Owerri.
“It is condemnable for government to discriminate against pupils and students in mission schools in the Imo State free education programme.
“Nigerian youths at various levels, particularly university students and the unemployed, are going through extreme difficult times. Our governments should please help in alleviating their current and pitiable plight,” he said.
The Archbishop further appealed to both the federal and state governments to redress the extreme difficulties of unemployment which the Nigerian youths were going through.
He also asked members of the Pastoral Council in all the parishes within his jurisdiction to not only give youths more attention and support but also establish Youth Welfare Committees to help them.
“It is part and parcel of our duty and mission to provide Catholic education to our children and others who love integral disciplined education,” His Grace, Anthony Obinna declared.
