High-rank world football player Lionel Messi has lashed out at Barcelona vice-president, Javier Faus, after he said that the Argentine will not be offered a new deal any time soon.
Several reports indicate that the forward had requested for a pay-rise, which will see him become the best paid footballer in La Liga again, which caused Faus to make the comments.
Meanwhile Messi denied that he made such request and slammed Faus for his lack of football knowledge.
"Faus is a person who does not know anything about football. He tries to run Barcelona like a business, but this is a football club. Barcelona are the best club in the world and should also have the best directors in the world. I have never asked for a new contract and neither has any of my representatives," Messi told RAC1.
Additionally, Barcelona star commented on the allegation regarding the fact that his foundation is involved in a money laundering scandal, saying he just deeply regret these allegations because everything they earn goes to charity.
