“We Could Have Won, I Am Disappointed With Howard Webb” – Mourinho After Crashing Out In Semis

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that the 4-1 loss to Borussia Dortmund last week, eventually decided who qualified for the final of the Champions League.
Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos scored in the dying minutes of the return leg, but it was not enough, as Dortmund squeezed through 4-3 on aggregate.
“In football you win or you lose. I think we could have won. They had a couple of big chances but that was a consequence of the way we were playing late on where we risked everything,” Mourinho told ITV.
“Today we were a team with character and desire and we could have done it.
“I don’t forget the first match, we were very bad and we were punished because of the result of the first leg.”
The former Chelsea boss also expressed his disappointment in Howard Webb, who handled the fixture, claiming he should have sent Mats Hummels off.
“I am very sad and disappointed with one of my favourite referees, Howard Webb. It’s a red card for Mats Hummels, he saw it. In that moment he was not a referee, he was a human being. He thought ‘if I give a red card to Mats Hummels, he will miss the final’.”
