General overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that the church lost over 46 branches in crises that occurred in various parts of the northern part of the country, especially during the post-elections violence in 2011.
Adeboye spoke in Jos on Wednesday while inaugurating the headquarters of Maranatha Covenant Churches International and the consecration of the senior pastor of the church, Bishop Jonas Katung.
Adeboye said christians in the North are under fire especially the clergy and advised them to be closer to God at all times.
While taking his Bible Reading from the Book of Romans chapter 8 verse 31, Pastor Adeboye charged christians to depend on God as their saviour.
He called on all christian faithful to seek the face of God first in all they do as God has always kept his covenant with those that seek Him.
Katung while appreciating Adeboye described him as the most humble Man of God, saying as result of his humility, God has used him to expand the Redeemed Christian Church of God, being the largest Pentecostal church in the world.
The occasion witnessed prayers of deliverance for many worshippers who gave their lives to Christ.
Adeboye, is on a pastoral visit to his churches in Plateau State.
