President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that he could fly to Brazil in the summer, to support the Super Eagles at the World Cup.
He made these remarks on Wednesday, when the Nigeria Football Supporters Club installed him as their Grand Patron.
“The Year 2014 is a very important one for our nation, as we have the FIFA World Cup and the Commonwealth Games ahead of us. The Federal Government will not relent in giving support to all our athletes in all sports to excel,” President Jonathan said.
“I am indeed honoured to be officially recognised as Nigeria’s Number One Supporter. I have always been a keen supporter of all our national teams.”
Jonathan has in the past two years, visited the team twice at different competitions – an unprecedented event among the country’s previous leaders.
