Lecturer Stabbed to Death: 25 Kogi Poly Students Arrested


Speaking to the press in his office, on Monday, the Rector of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Prof. Matthew Ajibero, disclosed that 25 students of the Polytechnic have been arrested in connection with the killing of the institution's senior lecturer.
It would be recalled that Friday night, a group of students stabbed the victim, Mr. Abimaje, in the abdomen. For more details, click the link below:

Ajibero blamed ethnic and tribal tensions among the students in the campus for the crisis leading to the killing of the lecturer.
He stated that students of Igala and Igbira ethnic stock have been having some problems with themselves for quite some time for certain reasons known to themselves, and that violence broke out despite the interventions of the school authorities.
