The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, officially stepped down from his position yesterday.
His resignation was confirmed by President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday at the meeting of the National Executive Council of the party as he retrieved the former Chairman’s resignation letter from his pocket and handed it over to Professor Wale Oladipo, the PDP’s National Secretary and it was thereafter accepted by the National Executive Committee following a motion for acceptance moved by Governor Liyel Imoke of Rivers State.
