PDP In Borno Calls For Systematic Rehabilitation Of Boko Haram Victims

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Borno State, Alhaji Baba Basharu, urged the state government to collect the date about the Boko Haram victims in Borno and design a rehabilitation programme for them.
He said this on Sunday to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Maiduguri, Borno's capital.
Basharu advised the government to gather the detailed data about the people killed on the basis of the collected information develop a rehabilitation plan.
“It should get the data of the number of women who lost their husbands as well as children orphaned by the crisis.
“Government should then roll out a massive rehabilitation programme for them to start a new life,’’ he said.
The Borno PDP chairman  also called on the state government to follow the Kano State that came up with the youths empowerment programme aimed at job creation for its teeming unemployed youths.
“The Borno State Government can copy from the programme by introducing youths’ programmes like the Borno Traffic Control Agency and similar ones,’’ he added.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Scout Federation expressed its dissatisfaction with the FG's approach to address the security challenges posed by the outlawed Boko Haram sect. The position of the group was announced by its Chief Commissioner, Colonel Ahmed Zubair (retd.), at the 2013 National WoodBadge Reunion on Saturday in Lagos.
