A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Federal Capital Territory, Alhaji Sidi Abubakar, has attributed the ongoing crisis tearing the party apart to selfish interest and quest for power.
Abubakar stressed this fact speaking with journalists on Friday, saying that some members of the party were doing all they can to cause confusion in the party so as to be able to control the affairs of the party.
"The so-called PDP crisis is not a crisis but some people, because of their selfish interest are causing the crisis. They thought they would pocket President Jonathan, but he has refused. Let us be frank, the South West are always in the opposition. Today, they said they want the North to support them, but I am happy to say that northerners are not fools. Nigeria has never produced a practical President like Goodluck Jonathan."
The official also urged the government to address the miserable condition of the original inhabitants of Abuja, in order to avoid crisis in future.
