The Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party embarked on January 10, 2014, Friday, on its “unity consolidation tour” to its members in all the local government councils of the state.
The tour was coming on the heels of the party’s celebration of the reconciliation of its key leaders in Lagos.
Chief Tunji Shelle, the PDP State Chairman, revealed that the tour was to let all the members know that the party was now ‘indivisible’ and the need for all of them to work together in the party’s interest.
Chief Shelle stated this while addressing party faithful in Eti-Osa Local Government.
He further added that the leaders of the party in the state were harmonising all interests following the reconciliation.
“We are more united now and nothing is stopping us again come next elections,” he said.
He urged the members to emulate the leaders and remain steadfast.
Chief Shelle reminded the members that the stage was now open for aspirants willing to contest any position to send their letters of intention.
“Members interested in political offices should therefore make formal applications to the State Secretariat and we assure you that all forms will be treated the same way,” he said.
He also appealed to the members to contribute their quota by giving more support to the Federal Government.
“Government is a collective effort. We must all support the Federal Government to continue with the good works it’s doing for Nigeria,” he concluded.
