Gov. Kwankwaso, Others Pay Last Respect to Late Sheikh Harazimi in KanoThe Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, was among tens of thousands of people that witnessed the funeral rite of the renowned Islamic scholar Sheik Aliyu Harazimi at the Emir of Kano's palace on December 11, 2013, Wednesday.
The influential Tijjaniyya sect scholar, Sheikh Aliyu Harazimi, died at the age of 98 after a brief illness at his residence at Hausawan Mandawari, Gwale local government area in the Kano metropolis on December 11, 2013, Wednesday.
After the funeral prayer which was scheduled for 2 p.m. at Ado Bayero's palace and conducted by Khalifa Fatihu Ngibirima, the large followers of late Sheik Harazami accompanied his corpse to his residence at Hausawan Mandawari where he was buried.
Family sources said the late Sheik Harazami left behind one wife, many children and grandchildren.
Malam Mansur Ibrahim, a supporter of the late sheikh described the death as shocking and a great loss to Tijjaniyya sect followers in the entire West Africa.
May his soul rest in peace.
