Senator empowers women in Lagos

The lawmaker representing Lagos East Senatorial District, ‘Gbenga Ashafa, has empowered about 300 women across the five local governments and 11 local council development areas within his district.
According to the senator, the empowerment programme held in Epe and Eredo on Friday, is a means to boost women in their economic activities.
He said, “At a Town Hall meeting, I made a promise to assist our women in their businesses. The fulfilment of that promise is what we all seated here today to witness.
“I congratulate the beneficiaries of this programme and also advised them to use the fund judiciously.”
Some of beneficiaries of the over N10m project are Mrs Fatimoh Salaudeen from Somolu LG; Mrs. Daramola Mushrafat, Epe LG; Mrs. Ajayi Dorcas, Kosofe LG; Mrs. Rashidat Ojikutu, Ikorodu LG and Mrs. Agbabiaka Sidikat.
The beneficiaries commended the senator for not forgetting the people that elected him.
One of them, Rashidat Ojikutu, said, This will go a long way to help my business. It is a means to show the importance of women in the society.”
