The Information Technology unit of Samsung Electronics West Africa has embarked on a three-day IT retail fairs in Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Abuja to boost the reach of its IT products.
This, the company said, had become important due to the increasing belief among consumers that it only produced smartphones.
The Head, IT, Samsung Electronics West Africa, Ms. Folasade Oyelayo, while brefing journalist at the Ikeja City Mall, venue of the Lagos retail fair on Friday, “The aim of the fair is to show consumers that Samsung has a fantastic range of IT products. People have long associated the brand with innovative mobile phones.
“It is very funny that whenever Samsung is mentioned, the first thing that comes to people’s minds is the Galaxy range of smartphones. The Samsung brand is synonymous to innovative products. Our cutting edge technology spans across all our product range. We believe that Nigerians deserve to enjoy the same innovation from Samsung in the IT space.’’
According to her, the Samsung IT division caters for IT products like printers, monitors, laptops/note PCs and all-in-one personal computers.
At the experience centre with full product display, consumers were allowed to experience the IT products first hand and directed to accredited brand shops where they could make purchases with 24 months’ warranty
Speaking further on the plan for the retail fair, Oyelayo said, “This fair, which is part of our consumer education campaign, will run for three days in Lagos, three days in Abuja and three days in Port Harcourt.”
Being a member of the Samsung mother brand, we  are very confident that all we have to do is introduce consumers to our products and like every other innovative product range from Samsung, the first purchase always marks the beginning of a long term relationship.”
One of the enthusiastic consumers commented, “Samsung has really come a long way. I must confess that I used to think that they were only good in mobile phones and TVs.
