"I have learnt a lot of things they just never tell you. There is no interesting thing about being married except for the companionship and it saves you some money. You no longer have to eat out and you don’t have to spend money on a couple of girls. Now, it’s just your wife. It also prevents you from doing some things that are either promiscuous or unnecessary".

Nigerian rapper Skales has deleted all photos from his Instagram account, leaving but one. In this recent photo, he is together with a young pretty lady, presumably his new girlfriend.
This isn't the first time Skales is clearing his social media pages. In February this year, he deleted all photos and short videos.
Perhaps the rapper, who recently ended his contract with popular label EME, might want to clear his head.

Bayelsa State - Two abandoned bags evoked suspicion from members of the public in Yenagoa, along the Yenezue-Egene area of the state capital, for possibly being laden with explosives.
A middle-aged man, believed to be of Hausa ethnicity, was seen with two bags and accosted by some passers-by who demanded to know what he was carrying.
The man reportedly abandoned the bags and fled, raising suspicion in the minds of people that the bags might be laden with explosives.

How Nigeria Can Wipe Out Boko Haram – Bola Tinubu Reveals

 

A former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has said Nigeria’s current political and security challenge can be solved if leaders at all levels shed their egos, forgo their selfishness and renew their commitment to the people who elected them.
In his Easter message to Nigerians, Tinubu said only a bi-partisan approach can curb Boko Haram and secure the country and the insurgents need to be curbed urgently too.
According to Tinubu, Nigeria has no business with poverty, insecurity and massive unemployment as we have abundant natural resources and human capacity, adding that the Nigeria of today is not exactly the kind of Nigeria the country’s founding fathers envisioned.
“Let all men of goodwill, irrespective of party, religion or creed come together to find a solution to this unending and unconscionable killings and shedding of blood. We cannot continue to dance on the graves of our dead children and compatriots and claim that we were elected to lead them. Nigerians deserve better. They deserve peace. They deserve a government that can apply itself to the task at hand," he said.
While wishing Christians a happy Easter celebration, called on them to continue to pray for Nigeria so that God intervene and turn things around for the country.
He said, “As we remember the death of Jesus and celebrate his resurrection, we must never forget that if not for the sacrifice he made for all, there could never have been a celebration and hope for a better future. Such is the message of Easter to all our leaders to make the sacrifices necessary so that our country will be better”.
"We must all pray that God will provide Nigeria with leaders who are God fearing and with the vision and will to embark on the kind of change the country needs.
"May the spirit of Easter nudge us all in that direction of selflessness and service to our motherland.”

Presidency, Nyako Engage In War Of Words Over Genocide Claim

 

The Presidency described a memo written by Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State to the Northern Governors' Forum as a sad betrayal of trust by a major beneficiary of Nigerian nation.
The memo highlighted Governor Nyako's fears that the Presidency may intentionally not be doing enough to solve the many problems of insecurity in the North. Reacting to the claims, the Presidency said the Governor's positions smacks of "an unmitigated leadership disaster."
Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, said the content of the governor's letter betrays his lack of a sense of history. According to Okupe, the memo portrayed the governor as incapable of rising above parochial sentiments as a result of his deep rooted disdain for facts and truth in public discourse.
The SSA, who said the memo is extremely divisive, added that it was intentionally meant to incite one section of the country against the other.

U.S. Security Expert Says Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabab Terrorist Sects Are Backing Boko Haram

 

Al-Qaeda and Al-Shabaab terrorist organizations operating in the Islamic Maghreb and Arabian peninsula are helping members of Boko Haram carry out their operations in Nigeria.
This is according to forensic criminologist and security co-ordinator at the American University of Nigeria, Dr. Lionel Von Frederck Rawlins.
Rawlins, a US marine, who has worked in Europe, Africa, Asia, Central and South America, the Middle East and Far East as a counter-terrorist specialist, explained that Nigeria is under siege from terrorists from other lands.
He advised the Nigerian government to seek help in dealing with the insurgency.

A middle aged man Oseni Ekhameye allegedly died from severe machete cuts inflicted on him over a land dispute between Iviukha in Weppa Wanno and Ikpele in Okpekpe communities in Etsako East LGA, Edo State . One of the victim’s wives, Umoru Otsemobo, is said to be receiving treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital after suffering several machete cuts from those that killed her husband.

National Mirror reports that Ekhameye was killed after he hired some labourers to work in the disputed farmland on Sunday April 13th

.

His assailants, who were said to have earlier uprooted the crops and destroyed the farmlands before then, returned to kill him. The victim’s wife had gone to the village to make a report of the earlier destruction when she heard the assailants planning to kill her husband. Although she immediately left the house of the community head to inform her husband of the plan, he was killed before she could get home. She was also brutalized.

Confirming the death, Public Relations Officer of the Edo State Police Command, DSP Moses Eguavone, said, “It was a reported case of a wounded person originally. But the victim eventually died while receiving treatment,” he said.) See graphic image after cut...

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, kept his promise on April 15, 2014, Tuesday, donated blood to victims of Nyanya terrorist attack. The Speaker was accompanied by Senator Bukola Saraki. 
Both of the politicians urged Nigerians to follow their steps and help the victims of Monday's bomb blast.
Currently, over 124 survivors are in various FCT hospitals.

PHOTOS: Ondo Police Claim Arrest Of 14 Robbers And Kidnappers

 

The Ondo State police have claimed the arrest of fourteen suspected armed robbers and kidnappers. A police statement alleged that the suspects had been terrorizing residents of the state capital, Akure, as well as surrounding towns.
The suspects, who were reportedly arrested after a tip-off from members of the public, were paraded at the police command’s headquarters on Igbatoro Road in Akure. In recent months, residents of the state had seen a spike in armed robbery attacks. The Ondo State Police Commissioner, Isaac Eke, revealed that the arrested suspects were part of a larger gang that had carried out incessant attacks all over the state.

As the Easter is just dozens of hours away, Ondo Catholics celebrated Good Friday on April 19, 2014, by commemorating and re-enacting the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. 
This day, also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Black Friday, or Easter Friday, day is commemorated with street processions in many countries around the globe. For instance, in predominantly Roman Catholic Philippines, some devotees engage in self-flagellation and even have themselves crucified with real nail piercing their body as expressions of penance despite health issues and strong disapproval from the Church.

Doyin Okupe takes responsiblity for misinformation on abducted girls

Mr Doyin Okupe, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, yesterday took full responsibility for the misinformation on the 100+ abducted Government Girls Secondary students who were taken from their hostel on Monday 14th in Chibok, Borno state by Boko Haram men. He had issued a statement saying the military had released the girls. It was later found to be false. The girls are still missing.
